New ways of supporting classic media
To promote the launch of Êta Mundo Melhor, a telenovela from Rede Globo, we created a series of artworks and animations for the channel’s social platforms. The story follows Candinho as he goes after his kidnapped son, while living tense yet comic adventures. Along the way he meets unique characters who were imagined by Walcyr Carrasco, one of the most celebrated and successful telenovela writers in Brazil.
Through Candinho’s dreamlike perspective, we explored his playful and ingenuous universe. Using 1950s São Paulo as our main reference, we designed whimsical scenes that introduce the different storylines and the telenovela’s captivating cast.
A cast full of stars
This project came to life thanks to an incredible crew of artists, who dived into collage aesthetics to recreate the novela’s world. Working closely with Globo’s creative team, we had access to diverse and profound references that enriched the animation with details (including easter eggs that were added troughout the narrative).
A rigged game!
With access to official event photos, we built an unique library of each actors’ facial expressions, capturing their performances and translating it into the animation’s visual language.
Seeing their true colors
Inspired by the visual identity of Êta Mundo Melhor, we developed a color script that intensifies Candinho’s relentless quest for his son. His journey unfolds through the noise of the city, the depths of the ocean, mystical labyrinths, and even a desert from distant lands - all that framed in a vibrant and imaginative narrative..
